About the Omarsea Crew

We are the Trefethens. After 10 years of planning we decided to sell our home and buy a sailboat. In November 2007 we departed Portland Oregon for the Virgin Islands and our 50 foot sloop the OMARSEA. Our three children Ben, Juli and Steve are enjoying the benefits of being homeschooled. Join us on our continuing adventures as we explore the East coast of America on the way to New Zealand.

Happy Haloween

Hi to all you Ghosts and Goblins out there.  Last night was a great time for kids and parents alike in the Germantown area.  Julianna went to her friend Katie's house and they garnered all the reeses candy bars in her neighborhood. I think she said she had 22 of them. The boys dashed out for a quick 30 minutes and came back with huge hauls. Though Ben managed to eat half of his on the way back. Our friends the Tewilows and the Condits came over with their boys Artem and Declan. The boys then went out to our nearby neighbors in Fountain Hills and cleaned house again. They came back in about an hour just as Julie was getting home from Katie's. There were suddenly 7 kids running all over shouting out what they had for treats. Great fun was had by all of us as we settled into the kitchen for some socializing and talk of sailing this coming summer.
Jean worked from home today as it was a Holy day of obligation - All Saints Day. So we went to the 12:00 Mass at Mother Setons with our friend Julia . It was an excellent Mass given by non other than our very own "kick you in the pants" Father Carlos.  He always seems very inspirational to me in these confusing times. For those in Oregon who know our friend Steve Jones. Imagine Steve as a priest !  That's our father Carlos.
