About the Omarsea Crew
We are the Trefethens. After 10 years of planning we decided to sell our home and buy a sailboat. In November 2007 we departed Portland Oregon for the Virgin Islands and our 50 foot sloop the OMARSEA. Our three children Ben, Juli and Steve are enjoying the benefits of being homeschooled. Join us on our continuing adventures as we explore the East coast of America on the way to New Zealand.

A cold day of Home school isn't so bad.
We spent a week down on the boat in April. The kids were all wrapped up in blankets doing their school work from their cabins while I worked on the new refrigeration system. Juli in particular likes to be snug as a bug. She brings her f lease blanket and favorite pillow when we visit the boat. It was cold that evening. The low was 28 degrees. Thankfully the temps are on the rise and we will not see those temps again for a while.
