About the Omarsea Crew

We are the Trefethens. After 10 years of planning we decided to sell our home and buy a sailboat. In November 2007 we departed Portland Oregon for the Virgin Islands and our 50 foot sloop the OMARSEA. Our three children Ben, Juli and Steve are enjoying the benefits of being homeschooled. Join us on our continuing adventures as we explore the East coast of America on the way to New Zealand.

The Tref's are hard at work again!

These are some more pictures of the kids and I working on the boat.   Ben is winching heavy equipment aboard

Here I am holding the tailing end while Ben works the winch above.

This is the first time Ben has used the new mast winch. It was really easy for him to bring the transmission aboard.

The Omarsea ham's , Julianna & Steve. They are holding a roll of tape and a can of paint.

The boat with a "Flag Blue" boot stripe. It looked great on the internet but I didn't like the darkness of the paint when it was on the boat. So we repainted it with a "Sapphire Blue"  Definitely a big improvement.
