About the Omarsea Crew
We are the Trefethens. After 10 years of planning we decided to sell our home and buy a sailboat. In November 2007 we departed Portland Oregon for the Virgin Islands and our 50 foot sloop the OMARSEA. Our three children Ben, Juli and Steve are enjoying the benefits of being homeschooled. Join us on our continuing adventures as we explore the East coast of America on the way to New Zealand.

What else would you do with an extremely low tide? Steve and Juli just could not help diving into the Knapps Narrows mud last week. The North winds being heavy, blew the water down out of the bay resulting in a series of very low tides. They were very disappointed when I told them they could not lay down and roll in the stuff. It stunk to high heavens. As It was I had to shoo them off the boat three times to wash all the mud off their arms, legs and feet. Yet, what fun to have the time and energy to play in the warm soft mud of that afternoons tidal gift.
