About the Omarsea Crew

We are the Trefethens. After 10 years of planning we decided to sell our home and buy a sailboat. In November 2007 we departed Portland Oregon for the Virgin Islands and our 50 foot sloop the OMARSEA. Our three children Ben, Juli and Steve are enjoying the benefits of being homeschooled. Join us on our continuing adventures as we explore the East coast of America on the way to New Zealand.

LIFE IS SWEET

Tonight around 7:30 one of the kids came by and asked our kids to go exploring. Grabbing flashlights they darted off. Likely to the "Jail" I mentioned earlier. They come back breathless and thirsty. Grab a glass of water and dash back out again. Oh how I remember summer nights with friends. I compare to summer because it's right around 90 degrees here in the boat as I write this blog. But there is a nice breeze thankfully and few bugs. The kids are safe here on the peninsula where the marina is. Can you imagine playing with new friends that are from; England, South Africa, Holland, Sweden, Germany, Denmark, Scotland, Brazil, France and Wisconsin?  Benjamin is so excited to go play with these guys he rushes off the boat. Rare for him these days. It is a good end to a hard day of rebuilding the marine toilet. So yes Life is Sweet!
