About the Omarsea Crew

We are the Trefethens. After 10 years of planning we decided to sell our home and buy a sailboat. In November 2007 we departed Portland Oregon for the Virgin Islands and our 50 foot sloop the OMARSEA. Our three children Ben, Juli and Steve are enjoying the benefits of being homeschooled. Join us on our continuing adventures as we explore the East coast of America on the way to New Zealand.

This is the greeting sign at the Musket Cove Resort. We have had the pleasure of spending nearly three months here. The kids love the pool, ping pong tables, the beach and the chance to play with other kids from Australia and New Zealand.

Steve is having a really good day. Here he is standing on the hill overlooking a Copra plantation. Its no longer growing cocnuts to harvest for oil but the property is amazing. Wish I had 30 Mil to buy it and build a small house on the beach.

This morning's sunrise over the harbor. At 0500 the moon was bright I was nearly blinded when it shone into the cabin.  I couldn't sleep after that so I hopped in the Dinghy and took some shots of the harbor.

Successful Geocachers take a photo break

This is a view of Viti Lavu from Malolo Lai Lai where we are staying.

We spent the morning Geo-Caching on the beach. Amazing this little island Has 3 Geo-caches on it. It was hard going as we had to walk nearly all the way around the island on the rocky beaches. Very slow when your watching the numbers on the GPS unit.
