About the Omarsea Crew

We are the Trefethens. After 10 years of planning we decided to sell our home and buy a sailboat. In November 2007 we departed Portland Oregon for the Virgin Islands and our 50 foot sloop the OMARSEA. Our three children Ben, Juli and Steve are enjoying the benefits of being homeschooled. Join us on our continuing adventures as we explore the East coast of America on the way to New Zealand.

Keeping the Neighbors happy

Jean and I have filled many a yard debris bag in our day, but this job takes the cake! This winter's Blizzard broke numerous branches off our pine trees in the back yard. What with the work on the house I was unable to get to these branches until recently.
We tackled them last week and filled a total of 75 bags by the time we were done. This photo shows 35. Montgomery County will pickup as many as we put out there free of charge. Yet, still I called the city to let the yard debris crew know that we had a large load. Stevie and Julie carried most of these from the back yard to the street. Ben was down the street mowing a neighbors yard. They were wiped out by the time they were done.

    Amazing! We will try to have a lot of yard debris for you to do here when you visit. Don't want you to get out of shape! The bushes are seriously in need of a trim.
