About the Omarsea Crew

We are the Trefethens. After 10 years of planning we decided to sell our home and buy a sailboat. In November 2007 we departed Portland Oregon for the Virgin Islands and our 50 foot sloop the OMARSEA. Our three children Ben, Juli and Steve are enjoying the benefits of being homeschooled. Join us on our continuing adventures as we explore the East coast of America on the way to New Zealand.

Good Neighbors

For those of you who know my predilection for the automobile, have no fear, I am not starting a used car lot. This past winter the Buddhist Temple staff made hot chocolate and popcorn for the kids while they played in the snow of the big blizzard of '2010. They are really great neighbors. On my way back from the train station today (walking Jean to work) I found that the Temple was having a Holy Day and that they were expecting some 600 people. As a means of returning the favor and knowing their limited parking, we invited them to use the driveway and front yard as overflow.
