About the Omarsea Crew
We are the Trefethens. After 10 years of planning we decided to sell our home and buy a sailboat. In November 2007 we departed Portland Oregon for the Virgin Islands and our 50 foot sloop the OMARSEA. Our three children Ben, Juli and Steve are enjoying the benefits of being homeschooled. Join us on our continuing adventures as we explore the East coast of America on the way to New Zealand.

Trip to Virginia
Last week was so busy we are still recovering from it. We all drove down to the place in Virginia and back last Wednesday to pickup a ladder and supplies we had left there in the spring. I am doing a large project here at the house that required our big ladder. We are repairing problems with the house siding here in Maryland. The storms last month have wreaked havoc with this old house. Last year when we were rushing to get the house in the kind of condition we could live in, we only primed the outside. Now I am painting all the siding and trim with proper paint. Because the North side is so tall we have rented scaffolding as I need to work some 35' up in some places. My biggest challenge right now is the weather. If it's not raining then I can paint. But we have had so much rain lately. It has not dried out at all for the past three weeks. The "mozzies" are so mean outside that I can't work after 6PM or they eat me alive. The work is really hard but we are making good progress and it is beginning to look really nice. Like we always say. You can't get the prize if you keep questioning the price!
