It is all finally coming together for the Omarsea and her crew. Last week we picked up the ships mainsail from Bacons Sails in Annapolis. Gary there had sewn on the slides and batten cars for the sail. On the way back Juli and Jean stopped off at the Chesapeake Wildlife Heritage for a demonstration of "Butterfly Tagging". The resident expert had a number of Monarch butterflies she let the visitors tag with tiny numbered adhesive tags. Meanwhile I did the grocery shopping and then picked them up for the ride back to Tilghman's Isle. I was itching to try the sail on the boat when we arrived but it was getting dark and I had to wait till the following morning. It just about killed me!
It worked out really well though. The sail fit the boat perfectly and was very easy to raise and lower on the new sail track we had installed when the mast was down on the ground. Check this one off the list. One more down and only about 65 more projects to go. T-4 weeks and counting!!!!!!!!!!!!!
