The Trefethen's have passed the seven week point till we depart for Florida.
The weeks have been flying by in a flurry of activity for our family. Jean has made a couple of trips with work that have taken her to North Decota and Minissota.
School is proceeding nicely for the children. We are deeply involved with math, sciences, history, economics as well as three new courses 1:critical thinking 2:financial litteracy, 3:critical problem solving.
Despite a few emotional days getting back into the routine of school, the students and their teacher are doing just fine.
The Omarsea is coming along very well. After stepping her mast we have nearly finished her rigging work. Alsô wè have made several môdifîcatiôns to her in the past wèek. Thè fîrst is à cradlè tô hold the bîg outbôarfd motor up in the bow locker.
Then we finished installing the day head plumbing so that will be ready for use offshore. Our work painting the decks will be delayed for several days as a massve storm front moves over and off the East coast.
Today we have dedicated scool to weather forcasting. After pulling up Goggle earth we activated the weather layer and watched as the big storm approached and began pasing over us. We can see real time or just about, how the more severe parts of the storm affect us with relation to wnd speed.
Gusts up to 50 miles per hour are hammering the boat right now. It looks to last through the evening. The kids, Jean and I are weathering the storm here in the hotel lounge. My biggest concern now is the rising tide flooding the parking lot and our car. So far so good.
I will update with details later this week.
